A Message from NHYD President
Garth Corriveau:
If you were active in the 2008 N.H. Presidential Primary, now's
not the time to stop! To change Washington, you gotta start at home.
The NHYD 2008 platform is
built around political organizing: decentralizing our membership, raising money and
hiring staff, supporting Young Democrats running for office, and especially
creating and sustaining regional YD chapters so that Young Democrats can
get politically active in their own communities on the grassroots level.
Currently NHYD membership is too centralized in the
Concord/Manchester/Nashua corridor. To remedy that, our board is in the early
stages of finalizing a Seacoast
YDs chapter and an Upper
Valley YDs chapter, while looking for politically
active YDs in the
Monadnock Regions. We are also
putting together a
NH Young Democrats High School Caucus.
So, if you hail from the Seacoast and want to participate in the Seacoast YDs,
email us at
seacoast@nhyoungdemocrats.org. Likewise if
you're an Upper Valley YD, please contact
uppervalley@nhyoungdemocrats.org.
High School aged Democrats? Shoot us a line at
membership@nhyoungdemocrats.org. Monadnock
Region - give us some love!
Always wanted to learn the ins-and-outs of fundraising? Communications? Have a
voice on NHYD policy or membership matters?
Become a member of the NHYD Finance,
Communications, Membership or Policy Committee by contacting our Membership
Coordinator at
membership@nhyoungdemocrats.org.
The NHYDs have ambitious, but achievable goals for 2008. Only together can we
succeed in getting out the youth vote in November '08, keeping NH Blue and
turning our progressive ideas into political reality. Thanks for checking out
our website and for joining the cause.
