Richardson Surrogate Judge Reinhold on Celebrity Layover with New Hampshire Young Democrats at Airport Diner in Manchester on December 16 at 10:00 a.m.

MANCHESTER, NH – With Oprah gone, Granite Staters may be wondering who might show up next from the land of glitz and glamour. How about a visitor from the land of big hair and acid-wash jeans?

On December 16, actor Judge Reinhold (best known for his roles in Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Beverly Hills Cop) will be stumping for Democratic presidential candidate Governor Bill Richardson. He’ll be “flying” into the Airport Diner on Brown Avenue in Manchester with his wife Amy to meet the New Hampshire Young Democrats (NHYD) for a Q&A brunch at 10 a.m.

“When celebrities visit our small state, it presents a rare opportunity for us,” said Katie Judd, NHYD media coordinator and event organizer. “A recognizable face from television or the movies can attract fresh faces to our organization that might be a little on the fence about political involvement. I think it will only benefit our members to hear why someone like Judge Reinhold would get involved in politics and why he’s out supporting his candidate.”

Reinhold's first major film role was as high school senior Brad Hamilton in Fast Times at Ridgemont High and he later played Detective Billy Rosewood in Beverly Hills Cop. He has now made more than 75 films. At the 1994 Emmy Awards, Reinhold was nominated for “Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series” for his role as Elaine’s boyfriend Aaron “The Close-Talker” on the popular TV series Seinfeld.

Judge and his wife Amy plan to mingle with the NHYD crowd, answer questions, talk about the issues that matter to young voters and discuss his involvement on the Richardson campaign.

“I anticipate he’ll get questions about what it was like work with the famed 80’s ‘brat packers’ or with Jerry Seinfeld,” laughs Garth Corriveau, NHYD Treasurer. “But that’s to be expected. There has been a lot of attention on what the youth vote could do in 2008, and the issues that face our country are serious, but it’s nice to be able to mix that in with something fun and a new perspective.”

Airport Diner, a member of The Common Man family of restaurants in New Hampshire, is pleased to host the event, and encourages all young voters to be active and engaged in the primary process.
