2008 First In the Nation Primary

The 2008 First in the Nation Primary season was definitely an exciting one. We met with Bayh, Biden, Kucinich, Richardson, Edwards and Former Democratic Party Chair Terry McAuliffe. We heard Oprah and President Bill Clinton speak and we almost got to have breakfast with Richardson surrogate Judge Reinhold. Next time we plan better weather for you Judge.

Surging Youth Voter Involvement brought National and International Press Attention. Members of the NHYD were featured on Fox News Channel, XM Satellite Radio, NPR, BBC Radio, Al-Jazeera English, NHK Broadcasting Corp. (Japan), WMUR-TV (Manchester), WLBZ-TV (Bangor), New England Cable News, MyTV’s “Political Chowder with Arnie Arnesen,” The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Union Leader, The Concord Monitor, The Huffington Post, Esquire, and MSNBC.com.

The 2007 NHYD Board supported a variety of candidates. Treasurer Garth Corriveau and Secretary Katie Judd were both inspired most by Barack Obama. Vice President Destie Hohman Sprague and National Committeewoman Amanda Grady preferred Richardson. Labor Caucus Leader Jess Clark and Membership Coordinator Kristin Mueller endorsed John Edwards.
